Textile and Chaloner Vocational Buildings Planned for Roanoke Rapids
Superintendent W Davis announced immediate work on a new textile building for Roanoke Rapids schools and an addition to John Armstrong Chaloner Negro School for vocational education. Halifax County approved about 5 000 dollars for the textile project with funds from per capita taxes. the rest to come from local taxes. The Chaloner project, costing around 5 000 dollars, will be partly WPA funded and include two classrooms a workshop and home economics facilities in a one story building.
