Buick overturn near Weldon causes $300 damage
A Florida real estate man overturned his 1946 Buick convertible on Highway 301 four miles south of Weldon. Patrolman J S Woodall identified the driver as J L Casselberry of Daytona Beach and said no one was injured. The damage was estimated at $300.

James E. Piland a 69 year old Margarettsville resident was arrested early Sunday on driving while drunk charges. State Highway Patrolman J Woodall said the arrest occurred about three miles from Seaboard on the Seaboard-Welton highway. The case will be heard in Northampton County Recorder's Court at Jackson on June 30.

Musicians Post Bands For Release
Ten bandsmen arrested in Roanoke Rapids Sunday morning for illegal possession of marijuana were released on bail after two days in Wilson County jail. Horace Edwards, 34, booking agent for Danny Long's band, posted $1000 bail Monday afternoon and aided others. Slaying in Gaston: Clayton Boone Shot on Highway 46
Hubert Washington, colored, is held on $500 bond for trial in Northampton County Superior Court over the shotgun death of Clayton Boone, colored, shot in the right eye on Sunday afternoon on Highway 46 east of Gaston between six and 6:03 o clock. Investigating officers Constable John Dixon and Northampton County Coroner Dennis Hitchen report a 12 gauge single barrel shotgun was used. An inquest followed Monday night in Hitchen's Store, with trial set for Jackson in August.
