Moseley In Halifax Jail For Assault
Thomas Moseley, 20, is jailed in Halifax County on a $500 bond after a preliminary hearing before Mayor Kelly Jenkins. He is charged with secret assault on W A Slade, 60, after an incident in the Black Bottom area on the Weldon Roanoke Rapids highway, allegedly choking and beating Slade, who suffered serious injuries. Moseley is set for trial in Halifax Superior Court during the August term.

Charles F Ogletree Sr of Enfield was killed Friday morning in a head on crash on highway 301 four miles from Weldon involving a car and a truck. Buck W Pridgen of Elm City and his sisters were injured. the truck driven by Wilton Avery Honeycutt of Wendell sustained minor damage. No charges were filed. funeral held at Enfield Methodist Church with Roanoke Rapids Cemetery burial.

Service officer H. H. Stallings outlines a temporary schedule for the Halifax County office serving veterans of the lower county. The schedule runs Tuesday and Thursday in Scotland Neck, Wednesday morning in Hollister, and Wednesday afternoon in the grand jury room at the Halifax County Courthouse.
