Halifax County petition seeks county funds for a public library

Hundreds of Halifax County residents sign a petition urging the Board of County Commissioners to appropriate funds to create establish and maintain a unified countywide public library system. A library association formed with E L Travis as chairman plans to present the signed petitions on Monday June 9 after a June 2 meeting was canceled.
