Sell School Bonds Below 5 Per Cent
The Roanoke Rapids Graded School District sold last week through the Local Government Commission in Raleigh fifty thousand dollars in school bonds to A. C. Allyn & Co. Chicago at an interest rate of five per cent and with a premium of four hundred eighty five dollars making the rate considerably below six per cent. Zen firms bid on the bonds with the rate running as high as six and one half per cent with one and a quarter premium. Local Government Commission officials call it an excellent rate given current business conditions.
