He was aboard a ship en route to Baltimore when he was injured at Old Point Comfort Virginia on July 1, received care in Baltimore then transferred to the Norfolk hospital for further treatment. Police Reopen Probe Of Hot Roanoke Rapids Car
Police in Roanoke Rapids recovered a second Baltimore stolen car matching a gray 1941 Pontiac sedan with red wheels. The vehicle, belonging to Mr. Harrison of Baltimore and reported stolen July 5, was found deep in woods near the cemetery after missing parts were removed. An earlier similar theft from Baltimore also yielded a Pontiac with identical details except for the motor number. Insurance notified. a man heads north to reclaim the auto.

Convicts Free Three Hours After Escape Near Margarettsville
Two inmates Robert Wilson and Grantley Rose fled the Jackson Prison Camp road gang near Margarettsville Tuesday afternoon and were recaptured three hours later within three miles by highway patrol officers and prison officials. Long Session Court Held At Halifax
A long session of re corters court was held at Halifax Tuesday with many cases including simple drunkenness speeding drunken driving and assault continued. Lloyd Little was found guilty of drunken driving and fined 10 dollars and costs. Delores Yerrell was given four months for assault with a deadly weapon but suspended on costs. Roy Rogers was guilty of assault on a female with a six month suspended sentence on costs and good behavior. W M Stephenson was fined 100 for driving while intoxicated. John Bullock was guilty of assaulting a female with 12 months jail suspended on 25 dollars and costs and good behavior for two years. E C Whittington appealed after a drunken driving conviction with 100 fine and 200 bond. Other cases were continued to the next session.
