Mrs Stella Giles wife of John Giles died at home in Rosemary Durham after a six year illness. Interment followed in the cemetery in Durham NC. Survived by her husband and three children she was a devout Presbyterian Church member and a kind neighbor remembered by all.
Mr Sol M Inscoe of Hollister and Miss Essie Lamber of Rosemary were quietly married by Rev Mr Carter at his home Sunday night. The couple plan to reside in Hollister and rosemary.

Chapel Hill January The war boosted interest in French and Spanish at the University of North Carolina per registrar T J Wilson Jr. Five hundred ten fall term students volunteered for romance languages the highest since before the S A T C era French leads Spanish four to one. German enrollment declines by half since 1916 17 while Latin falls sharply after wartime restructuring.
While out hunting last week Mr Len Cobb was shot in the eye the force of the shot nearly spent when it struck. The accident was painful but not serious and he was kept at home for a while. He is able to be out again this week.

Roanoke Mills donates $5,000 to apply toward the purchase, with a $15,000 balance to be raised by publicly auctioning the town garage building on Feb 7, 1920. The development company pledges to bid $15,000 at auction, ensuring park funds without town expense and a minimum $4,500 profit from the garage sale.

R A Jackson met a pecular auto accident en route to Richmond with a load of furniture. Water splashed on steering gear and brake drums, froze on a long straight stretch, causing loss of control and a collision with a telephone pole. Jackson escaped unharmed.

Mr James Newsome and Miss Annie Mumford of Roadmary wed in Mr Medlins apartments Tuesday afternoon with Reve A Gy Carter officiating. The ceremony followed by a modest reception as family and friends gathered in the vicinity.
