A police dog at Roanoke Rapids Hospital suffers homesickness while cared for by attendants after arriving Sunday. Also announced is the marriage of Ruth Batterton Grizzard Butts to Mr. Joseph Grizzard Butts on December 28, 1935, with Cary T. Grayson listed as National Chairman.

Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Jenkins and Mrs. Lucy Jane Massey are urged to contact Halifax Clerk A L Hux for pension warrants he holds for them. Hux has served widows in the county and secured rolls for several. The warrants must be claimed soon or returned to Raleigh. In a separate notice, Mrs. Sallie Joyner died December 24 in Hornertown from cerebral hemorrhage. Funeral services were December 27 at Williams Funeral Home with burial in Roanoke Rapids Cemetery.

He faces second degree burglary with potential 30 year penalty. arrest occurred Tuesday afternoon near Enfield.
