Ernest Eubanks Injured in University Auto Crash

Ernest Eubanks 21 of Roanoke Rapids North Carolina lies in critical condition at Memorial Hospital Richmond after a crash on Grove Avenue. He suffered a fractured spine and paralysis from the waist down. Other students injured include Charles Hallowell Jr 22 of Atlantic City with skull fractures and chest injuries while Stover Creasy 24 of Gretna escaped with minor injuries.

Norfolk Student Suffered Concussion In Crash Near Grove Avenue

Oliver 22 of Norfolk a junior sustained a brain concussion and bruises after a car veered off Grove Avenue and struck a tree as students returned to the university. Police said no serious injury and Oliver was treated and released. Dean Pinchbeck said parents were notified and relatives of Eubanks and Hallowell were expected today.

Kiwanis Dental Clinic Returns With Large Roanoke Rapids Turnout

The Roanoke Rapids Kiwanis Club sponsored dental clinic examined 1,257 children from 1st to 5th grade over five months with 940 treated by Dr. F. S. Woody. Proceeds from last year's Minstrel Revue funded the effort. the 2024 show is set for March 31–April 1 with rehearsals starting March 14.
