Book Week Results Splendid
Through town cooperation and student effort Book Week was a success with over a thousand library book submissions and about 347 dollars raised. Contributions came from Rosemary and Central School Fairs 160 Grammar Grades and High School 100 Scout Day fund 75 and Night School 4 totaling 339 dollars. The community recognizes the value of books and the boy who wrote Abraham Lincoln read books why can we. Appreciation is extended to all who cooperated.

Turkey Dinner To Men's Bible Class
A turkey dinner was held in the Sunday School rooms of the Presbyterian Church last Friday evening for the Men's Bible Class members. Guests included L. Grove and D. G. Campbell of Norfolk Wesleyan's Class, with talks on Sunday School work. The menu featured roast turkey, creamed potatoes, cranberry sauce, coffee, rolls, mince pie and cheese. 125 covers were laid.

Joe Falkner and Belle Wall charged with a statutory offense were sent to Halifax under a 150 dollar bond. Tom Walker Joe Gary Carrie Freeman and Emma Daniel all of the colored persuasion will reside in Halifax until the January term of Superior Court unable to make 150 dollar bond each. Otho Watkins drank on streets paid a fine of 15 dollars and costs. R W Poke and Mary Hooper charged with immoral conduct required to give bond of 150 dollars each for January term. Theodus Cofer drunk on streets paid a 5 dollar fine. Henry Pearson charged with selling whiskey went up to bond of 50 dollars. R W Carter charged with operating an automobile under whiskey influence and assault and battery with deadly weapon placed under 200 dollar bond for appearance at Halifax.

Lucius Hudson Dies After Illness in South Rosemary
Lucius Hudson, a well known citizen of South Rosemary, died at his home Sunday after more than a year of illness. He leaves a devoted wife and several children. The funeral was held at Smith's Church Monday afternoon with Rev. Carter and Rev. Harrison presiding, and he was buried in the family cemetery in Halifax County.
