Mrs. N. R. Jenkins, 54, of Littleton, shot herself at her residence after years of ill health. She died at Roanoke Rapids Hospital shortly after 8 PM with husband, a Seaboard Air Line section foreman, by her side. Family says health problems worsened over the past year.

Two Boys Missing for Sixteen Days on Island Co

Girl Who Taken Poison Improves at Roanoke Rapids
Miss Glenn Long a 22 year old waitress at Jones Place on the highway between Weldon and Garysburg is recovering at Roanoke Rapids Hospital after a self administered dose of chloroide. She took the poison Saturday night and was rushed to the hospital where immediate care cleared most of the poison from her system. Her condition is not serious. She has given no reason for her act.
