Ex-sailor James Dodd released on light bond in Parker death case
James Dodd a 20 year old ex sailor was released from the local jail Monday under a $100 bond to appear January 12 for disposition of his case. Dodd was arrested last week by Chief H E Dobbins on a perjury charge connected to statements before a coroner jury about Thaddeus D Parker's death from a .22 rifle bullet. Parker was found near the old canal by the Roanoke River on November 30. Dodd claimed he found the body and was alone at the time.
