Miss Margaret Kinlaw with Miss Lois Crawley and Master Chas Shaw spent Thanksgiving at her Bladen County home. Miss Nannie Pigg attended the Asheville Teachers Assembly returning enthused by the meeting. The new pastor Mr B B Slaughter arrived last Sunday and will reside with the community next week. A spinning party at Mr N H Chichester’s Saturday night featured rolls, moonlit candy making, games, and fun. Forty nine attendees enjoyed the evening and Miss Pigg’s recitation. Community Service drew a small crowd on Saturday Nov 27 with entertaining pictures and a fine recitation. Everyone urged to attend Saturday Dec 11 to help Aurelia Springs win the $25 singing prize.

Padgett Hosts Birthday Evening for Mr Padgett
Mr and Mrs E C Padgett entertained at their home last Thursday to celebrate Mr Padgetts birthday. Intimate friends danced until 1130 then moved to dining room for refreshments. A birthday cake with candles served as centerpiece as guests playfully quarreled over counting flames. After returning to the living room dancing resumed and fruit was served. Lower floor festooned with autumn leaves and holly.
