Halifax County retires bond with liquor profits
Halifax County announces the retirement of a 500 000 bond issue funded by profits from ABC stores. A 262 000 deposit in New York will complete bond payoff, reducing the tax rate from 85 to 65 cents and eliminating debt service levies. The sinking fund plan has kept ABC profits for bond retirement.
