Child Hit Tonight in Roanoke Avenue Accident
Six year old Matthew Wilder son of WPA worker M A Wilder was struck by a car driven by Mrs Helen Moore in the 200 block of Roanoke Avenue at 8 PM. The child suffered a broken pelvis and possible internal injuries. Witnesses said the accident was unavoidable for the driver and that the boy darted into the street from play. The Webbs Furniture Store area is noted as the family home.

Mrs John Stadler Funeral in Roanoke Rapids
Funeral services were held in Roanoke Rapids on Wednesday April 15 for Mrs Mildred Stadler formerly Miss Mildred Fisher born and raised there. She died suddenly in Martinsville Va and is survived by her husband John Stadler and their seven month old twins John Wesley and William Bentley among others.
