By warrant from the Reeve of the Rural Municipality of Daly Manitoba the secretary treasurer John A Dyer issues notice of tax arrears and costs on lands in Wheatland. If unpaid by July 15 1924 at 2 pm the lands will be sold by public auction in the Council Chamber Wheatland Manitoba as authorized.
Minutes of Daly Council show full attendance and approval of prior records. Correspondence includes bank and highway matters, a drunk driving complaint, nurse meal bills, and a hospital bill. Resolutions authorize bridge repairs, bank transfer, road grants, and vaccination talks. All motions carried, then finance payments.
Pleas are rapidly completing for Rivers Sports Day on Tuesday the 24th. The notice prints committee members and principal events with prizes including senior baseball and football, junior baseball, and various youth, girls and boys races contingent on weather.
Notice requests all advertisement changes be received by Monday at noon to publish Gazette on Rivers Sports Day. Staff expresses desire to attend the event and thanks readers for cooperation.
A mission conducted by Rev. Father Coll CSsR opened last evening in the Catholic Church. The order of services includes Mass and instruction at 8 a.m. and Rosary Sermon and Benediction at 7 30 p.m. All Catholics in the district are urged to attend and non Catholics are welcome.
At Brandon on Monday June 16 1924 at 2 pm Reverend Stone joined Ethel Melbere of Rivers to William Stevenson of Rivers in a matrimonial ceremony.
Mr. Fairbanks states the picture cost over a million dollars and promises a high quality production. He invites audiences to attend screenings next Friday and Saturday to judge one of the finest productions ever shown.
Ten years ago this week in 1914 the Gazette notes Rivers Sports Day set for the 24th with prizes of 35 25 and 15 dollars. Mayor Jonason proclaims the day a civic holiday as sidewalk work begins with Williams opening a gravel pit at the town’s east end.
Miss Mary Kettner thanks friends in Rivers for kindness and thoughtfulness during her recent illness.

Field Day at Brandon Experimental Farm will be held Saturday June 21. Farmers and researchers may inspect experiments on sweet clover alfalfa grasses and related crops and hear talks on growing and handling these crops. Program starts 1 30 p.m. Picnic parties invited to use farm grounds.

The Manitoba Co-Operative Wheat Producers Wheat Pool will hold a meeting at Oddfellows Hall Rivers at 2 pm on Monday June 23 to elect Daly Municipality Local officers and delegates for Brandon annual meeting on July 2 and 3 and to receive Mr Martinson captain of Lansdowne's report. A full attendance is requested.
Two of the town’s best known citizens celebrated their silver wedding anniversary with a social at their home. About twenty five friends attended for games music and refreshments. Mrs Nash spoke and silver spoons were presented to the couple. The Gazette joins well wishes for a long and happy life ahead.
