The Lothair Literary Society met Tuesday evening the 19th with a lengthy program after business. A debate titled Does Education Increase Happiness led the items, the affirmative winning, followed by dialogues recitations and singing. The reading of the Tenth impressed and the new editor showed promise. The next meeting is January 2 with a debate on Travel versus Books.
The machinists and boilermakers strike against the G T P is settled and workers may return. The town mourns the death of Mrs Mills mother of George Robert and Stephen Mills, three local youths. Transcona shops opening prompts several ten to relocate. Knox Church Rivers marks its third anniversary with a successful event.
A Daly Rural Municipality council meeting in Wheatland Manitoba on January 1924 will consider a bylaw to close portions of the Government Road Allowance in Section 15 Township 32 22 WPM and open portions in Section 15 Township 12 22 WPM as a public road in lieu of the closed segments. Copies of the proposed bylaw and plan are at the secretary treasurer's office for inspection. Interested parties are notified to govern themselves accordingly. Dated Wheatland November 6 1922.
