Olympic Flame Relay Design And Journey Details
The relay spans 45000 kilometres with 12000 people carrying the flame through 1036 communities. It aims to let over 90 percent of the population witness the flame and feel its warmth. The flame’s design draws on open land and winter sports lines, standing just over 37 inches tall and weighing 3.5 pounds. Made of stainless steel, aluminum and sheet moulding compound, it burns a propane isobutane hydrocarbon mix for 12 to 15 minutes.
