Joanne Bos of Rapid City and a widows’ group grew pumpkins on extra garden space and donated all proceeds to an African orphanage serving HIV infected babies. Pumpkins sold by donation at Bus Farm near Rapid City and The Green Spot Brandon Saturdays through Halloween.
Neighbors contribute excess pumpkins to support Rehema's Children's Home in Bukura district western Kenya and a Kenyan widows' group. The orphanage run by Ian and Lynne White, former Rapid City residents, was founded in 2005 and cares for 29 babies and children.
