Natural history collection preserved at Lesser Slave Lake site
A log cabin on Lesser Slave Lake hosts a growing on site museum dedicated to naturalist Mr. Eban who left Germany in the 1930s. The exhibit features a large grizzly bear trophy, skulls and jaws from several species, antler racks, and gear from guiding trips. Boxes of specimens were shipped to a German show then stored for decades before returning in the 1950s. The house, built on the shore, spans three floors with a lakeside patio and a large warming fireplace.
