Andrew Phillips to do work experience with public works March 19 to 23. Yi Lin Ye to be placed in town office for one day or two half days. Marilyn Dickson permitted to canvass for daffodils March 16. Garbage by-law set to 2022. Beautification contract extended for 3500 from May 1 to Sept 30. History books pre-order cost 4500. reimbursed from sale proceeds. Uncollectible tax roll items cancelled prior to 2007. Officials seminar and tradeshow in Brandon April 11-12. Manitoba Rivers WI Debates Nine Provincial Resolutions
Rivers WI held a March 8 meeting at Pat Dyck’s home to review nine proposed resolutions for the provincial convention. Topics include fetal alcohol syndrome screening, Christmas wording in government phrasing, highway improvements, date formats, water policy, funding for Native Women’s Association, and keeping the Famous Five on currency, with opposition to mandatory GMO labeling. Plans include regional and provincial conventions, a kitchen basket for Russell, Women Walk the World on April 29, and a next meeting April 5 focusing on Brandon’s women’s shelter.
