Daly council imposes moratorium on intensive livestock operation growth
At the Daly council meeting on February 12 a moratorium was set on considering and approving intensive livestock operation proposals until revised bylaws address public concerns. The action follows a petition from Concerned Daly Ratepayers with 402 signatures and a January 29 Rivers survey showing 93 percent favoring a hold. Proposals for bylaw revisions must be submitted within 30 days, with public hearings and a 90 day aim for completion.
