Big Bike fundraiser rides again in Rivers
The Heart and Stroke Foundation led a Rivers event eight years into a unique fundraiser now in its seventh year with four teams raising 2400 for the Foundation. Riverdale Personal Care Home and Daly Saskatchewan Recreation Commission organized the ride as volunteers explain the simple process and the added Queen tribute music this year.

DASH tent brings hospital feel to Brandon children event
Dudley the DASH tent returns to Brandon Town Centre on Sept 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It offers a hospital like setting for kids to learn about care and safety with 9 1 1 admitting lab OR recovery public health nutrition therapy pharmacy imaging dental emergency pediatrics and Manitoba Hydro information. Dudley marks his fifth birthday with cake at 1 p.m. The event is hosted by Brandon Regional Health Authority and BGH Foundation and supported by local businesses and 130 volunteers. Old medications can be safely disposed of at the tent. The event is free.

Palliative care unit renovations begin at Riverdale Health Centre
Renovations at Riverdale Health Centre add a patient room and a family room for palliative care. Upgrades include a low outdoor view window, accessible door to the courtyard, a ramp, an entertainment unit, an electric bed, and a wheelchair accessible setup. A family lounge, kitchen area, bathroom, and living space are being built with contributions from the community and volunteers.
