Rivers WI spotlight Parkinsons talk and May meeting

The Rivers Women’s Institute hosted Charlotte Potwood y of Parkinson’s Canada at the April meeting to discuss Parkinson’s disease, its symptoms and non genetic factors. Members learned about a 2016 Brandon conference and heard plans for the May 13 gathering with Linda Earl attending from the Manitoba Genealogy Society.

Riverdale Recreation Commission unveils 2015 program lineup

Riverdale Recreation Commission highlights a busy 2015 with 15 week after school indoor soccer at Rivers Elementary, a hunters safety course, yoga sessions, babysitting certification, Red Cross swimming, youth floor ball, senior hockey, and summer day camps at RCC. Over 60 children attended camps with weekly field trips. 48 played soccer, 28 advanced in swimming, and 17 earned babysitter certification. karate returns January to May with 21 week program led by Adam Thompson. Registration opens May 2 at riverslink.ca and forms can be mailed or submitted online.
