Dunes Relief Road Contracts Let By Indiana Commission
The Indiana State Highway Commission awarded contracts last week for 17 miles of a 40 foot concrete highway to relieve congestion on the Dunes Highway between Gary and Michigan City. The new Dunes Relief Road will run south of the existing highway and extend from Gary to the Indiana Michigan state line, reaching 31 miles in length upon completion. It will feature grade separations at railway and highway crossings and is projected to cost about $2,000,000.
