Village meeting on bonds and water line repairs

Regular session of the Deep Well Hope meeting appointed trustees for the Wil ton area. Discussions covered bond issues for the street car company, water mains repairs on Lincoln Avenue, and light pole maintenance. The board approved bond issues to fund water and streetcar maintenance, and directed officials to pursue a permanent city water agreement.

Franks Monahan Hurt In Dredge Chain Accident

Frank Monahan of Monahan Bros. contractors building the Dol lou sewer system suffered a severe arm injury when his right arm was caught in a chain conveyor on a large dredging machine. Fractures were reduced at Dr. Schmidt’s office and the arm bandaged before he was sent home to Joliet. HL VanGelder of Lynden, Washington visited Riverdale friends last week and plans a world tour. The Young People's Society of St Pauls Church staged a sold out program at Lunds Hall Dalton with recitations by Fred Ludwig and Henry Smith a convincing court scene by Mr Rademacher a witty monologue and a mixed choir performace. The dialogue Advertising for a Servant pleased the audience and Miss Emma Ludwig as Mrs Bray impressed with strong dramatic ability. Kv K Plant Sold At Court Sale In Hammond

The Knudsen von Kothen Manufacturing Co plant was sold by order of the court. Hammond banker E. J. Emerine led a group bidding $8300 after starting at $4000, with junk and secondhand dealers invited to bid if the sale continued. The plant’s stock and debts of up to $15000 were noted, with a new stockholder group rumored and the plant possibly moving to Hammond.
