Soldier Probes Korean Fronts With Battle Patrol
Cpl. Wallace D. Homer, son of Mr and Mrs R J Homer of Riverdale Illinois, serves with the 7th Infantry Regiment Battle Patrol in Korea. The 39 member volunteer unit, formed in August 1951 for combat reconnaissance, was among the first Army groups to use nylon armored vests. Homer enlisted December 1949 and arrived in Korea May 1951.

Pvt. Harry S. Fagan of South Holland Illinois trains at Camp Pickett Virginia during Operation Logex-52 with the 313th Signal Operations Battalion from Fort George Meade Maryland. His unit has set up 33 teletype circuits plus complete telephone and radio facilities to support a theoretical field army of 450 thousand. Fagan joined the Army in June 1951.
