The Pointer publishes Mr. Ingalls letter urging a thousand dollar bequest be placed in trust at the Bank of Harvey to create a perpetual fund. Income would support indigent patients at Ingalls Memorial Hospital, preserving donor intent and avoiding use of general funds.
Snow fell for three days last week and frost is expected to ruin fruit, while hardy vegetables resist. Government crop reports put regional fruit losses at 30 million dollars. Downs and Reich plan cottages in Highlawn with easy payments. Myrtle Boal visits Chicago guests Jeannette and Evelyn Rob inson. Riverdale hardware augments snow shovel supply after a delay. Conrad Seip of Riverdale Illinois has joined the First Regiment at Quantico Virginia after training at Parris Island South Carolina. This marks his first regular Marine Corps assignment since enlisting in Chicago recently and starting drills and duties at Parris Island. It is likely he will remain several months before resuming travels from Quantico the East Coast Expeditionary Force hub.
In a letter from F. A. Ingalls, the writer praises Mr. Jacobs for a generous gift that could seed a fund to aid destitute residents. He notes hospital service is available to all, but stresses that deficits must be covered by guarantors, an unfair burden. He encourages wider follow‑through and wishes the recipient well on the upcoming addition ready for service soon.
At the adjourned meeting the village officers presented the new treasurer's records. John Harms Jr. supplied a Special Assessment ledger and bond register plus a detailed report of funds. He notes prior administrations left books in poor condition and his work now brings them to a creditable, easily auditable state.
Riverdale druggist Ernest Kettler aged 54 died after a fever and diabetes at Auburn Park hospital. He leaves a widow, three brothers, four sisters and many friends. funeral planned in Milwaukee where he once lived. Mrs Kettler will run the store as before. He belonged to the Masonic Order and the Shrine.
A 1930 letter from Richard Ton to Simon Schoon discusses Bill Van Deursen and his daughter Irene in a California sanitarium. Ton urges Schoon and others to write, hoping for better health and a reunion with the Will Vander sen circle. Also notes a burglary at an A and P store and local ads for garden work from H Greick.
Ernest Hansehhman from San Francisco returns to Riverdale Thursday morning to oversee repairs and upkeep of his property and will spend the summer there before returning in the fall. He favors the coast country. spring is advancing with fruit and flowers in bloom. Rumor says government prohibition officers seek a prosperous moonshine distiller in Dalton and the census taker was warned away from the area.
A police dog belonging to Herman Horn was bitten days earlier and later killed by the dog pound after acting strangely. Officials will examine the head for hydrophobia while neighbors keep their dogs under watch to prevent bites.
Paul Gall Post plans dedicatory services at Riverdale Park on Sunday afternoon May 25 at 2 30 with a trench motor presentation. State Commander Wm Hayes of the American Legion will speak. A patriotic program is arranged and a trench motor may soon be presented to Dalton Park.
Calvin Florey and Wm Albrecht passed Second Class requirements at the April 25 Board of Review. Frank Wolff donated two splendid flag bases to Dolton Troop 1. Camp Waters, Buchanan Michigan, costs 13 dollars plus transportation and aims for full Scout attendance.
Troop 797 may skip Friday meeting due to a hike to Thornton. The scoutmaster plans to confer with Dolton troop about a tournament between Riverdale and Dolton troops, promising an exciting contest.

Ivanhoe joins the Midwest League and plans Sunday twilight and Saturday games to boost fan support. May 11 vs B B R Cubs, May 8 Belle Plaine, and May 25 Hartford Giants highlight a crowded schedule as Brani gar Bros upgrade facilities. Arrows open league season May 4 vs Trinity at Riverdale Park with new uniforms and an expanded squad of eighteen players.
The Riverdale Terrors meet the Poe Flashes at 10 30 Sunday morning at the Arrows diamond and face Dinge's Hill Billies at 3 00 p m at the same diamond. After thirty three years with Geo. M. Clark Co he resigns to enjoy life. He plans fishing this spring and time with his two daughters in New York. Former Dal ton resident and village trustee, he remains active and well liked by many friends.
