The Weimaraner’s Grand History and Traits
The Weimaraner arose in Weimar Germany as a hunting breed favored by nobility. Known as the gray ghost for rapid scenting and movement, the dog blends Red Schweiss hunde blood, excels as pointer and retriever, and serves as pet and watchdog. The Weimaraner Club of Germany and America enforce strict breeding standards. Howard Knight helped bring the breed to the United States in 1929 and Jeter introduced six more. For South Side All Breed Dog Training Club inquiries, contact secretary Mrs. Ch Westgard at 14510 Edbrook, Chicago 27.
