Lola steamer stirs Calumet River bridge standstill
The Lola steamer from Kennington kept the Calumet River bridge on the Western Indiana line closed, whistle blowing every ten minutes through the night. The railroad company faces a $10 per hour fine for halting navigation and may place an engineer on the bridge to keep it open for larger boats.
