South Holland Driver Loses Arm In City Crash
Roger M. Robinson, 35, of 16407 Claire Lane, South Holland, was injured when his car swerved from Doty avenue near 14th street, struck a light pole, overturned, and skidded 6 feet. He lost his left arm and fractured his skull. Robinson was hospitalized at Roseland Community Hospital in fair to improving condition after being transported by fire department ambulance. Police said he was traveling about 40 to 45 mph.

Promoted to Central Division Manager at Four Roses Distillers
William G. Carreras of 1401 Ling Dalton has been promoted to Central Division manager for Four Roses Distillers. He previously served as Division Merchandising Supervisor and joined the company in 1959 after work in radio and television sales in Illinois. Edward Hoehler, 48, of 14500 Wentworth, died after a heart attack Friday July 8 as Riverdale police treated him with an inhalator for ten minutes.

Harold Brown of Dolton won the 1940 61 Commander post at Paul Gall Post 303 American Legion during the June 28 officer election at the Legion home. Brown moved to Dolton in 1957 and runs Brown Funeral Home at 13820 Lincoln Ave. He is a Worsham College graduate and husband of Elsie Rasmussen. Brown served as a medical technician with the 959th Field Artillery Battalion in Africa Italy France and Germany, was discharged in 1945, and has since been active in local groups including Dolton Civic Association and Dolton Riverdale Kiwanis.
