Robbers damage barber shop and depot break in
Robbers entered Benz Bros barber shop at 103 West 137th Street Riverdale by removing a bathroom window frame and stole five razors two hair clippers and a jar of royal massage cream. They opened a small money drawer but only 95 cents and three dollars from the depot cash box were taken. The mug rack and other razors remained untouched. Police deem work nonprofessional.

Lusitania Sets Atlantic Record Amid Sturdy Downpour of Speed
The Lusitania broke all previous long distance Atlantic records by reaching Sandy Hook at 2 11 a m after four days nineteen hours and thirty six minutes. Leaving Liverpool July 4 and Queenstown July 5 after dock overhaul the four blade propellers boosted speed and set four records including a 32 minute improvement over its own prior mark. The Mauretania’s long course record of four days twenty hours fifteen minutes was eclipsed by thirty nine minutes.

Lusitania Sets New 25 Knot Record in Transatlantic Run
The Lusitania becomes the first 25 knot steamer as it and the Mauretania push speed records. On May 22 Lusitania's Daunt’s Rock to Hook voyage took four days twenty hours twenty two minutes, then Mauretania beat it by seven minutes to 24.85 knots. Last month Lusitania had set 24.88 knots with four days twenty hours eight minutes.
