Repairing 138th Street in county road work
The county scarifying crew led by Frank Green tears up west 138th street from Panhandle track to Halsted street, over a mile, to be ready for oil soon. Earlier, the Dalton board scarified Lincoln avenue to the B and O C tracks and oiled from Western Indiana R R to B and O C tracks, now in the best condition in years. Oiling reduces dust, though it may be messy briefly, then remains beneficial most of the year.
