Fourth Class Postmaster Exam Offered for Illinois Vacancy

The U S Civil Service Commission announces a fourth class postmaster examination to be held in Harvey Illinois on February 23 1918. It aims to certify candidates for the vacancy at South Holland plus other openings at that office. The $800 yearly pay is noted and applicants must be 21 or 18 in states with full age for women. Death of John Greick in Ridge community

John Greick, 56, respected Ridge resident east of Dalton, died this morning at 1 30 after a lingering cancer illness. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 o clock at the house and 2 o'clock at St Paul s Lutheran Church conducted by Rev H Wind.

Theatre Changes Hands in Riverdale Lease Sale

A.B. Johnson sold the Riverdale theatre lease to Fred M. Schneider of Homewood who takes possession this week. The new proprietor with show business experience promises quality shows and music for the admission price. The Johnsons, now Harvey residents, leave fondly after building local friendships.

Fornaciari and Miss Soenksen Wed at Ascension Church

Bert B. Fornaciari and Miss Gertrude Soenksen married at Ascension church with Rev Father McCarthy officiating Tuesday morning. Bridesmaids were Virginia Brauer and Alice Fornaciari, best man Paul Soenksen, music by Vera Geudtner and a Chicago soloist. The couple will honeymoon in Florida and Cuba and reside at 60 East 155th Street after February 1. Fornaciari is with Llarvey Motor Co. bride is daughter of William Soenksen, Eagle Store proprietor, Harvey.

German Oak Lodge No. 57 A O U W held a public installation of officers on Sunday evening January 18. Officers installed included Past Master Workman Henry J. Dillner and Master Workman William J. Albrechts, with John H. Hoppe as Foreman and Charley C. Schnoor as Recorder and financier. An illustrated Panama Canal lecture by A L Sweeney followed. A large crowd attended despite cold weather and luncheon was served by ladies. A new class of candidates will be initiated soon by the A O U W Club Degree Team of Chicago.
