Riverdale police report a tire and wheel were stolen Tuesday January 3 from a car owned by Joe Grippando of 14716 Princeton Dalton. The vehicle was parked in the Acme Sters parking lot at the time of the larceny.

Three cars were damaged in a Wednesday morning accident on Halsted at 146th in Riverdale. Dorothy M. DeVault drove a southbound car that struck Melvin A. Gifford who was stopped in the inside lane. The impact pushed Gifford into a northbound car driven by Carroll E. Scott. DeVault claimed brake failure.

The Thornton Township Regular Republican caucus at Dalton Park fieldhouse nominated four candidates for justice of the peace and four for township constables for the April 4 election. Nominees for justice of the peace include William Winterhoff, Arthur Buck, George Laczny, and Walter Brock. Constable candidates are Richard Popper, Richard Gilbert, Toe DeYoung, and Ray Smoots. Burglars Break In at KK & W Radio Store
A break in at KK and W Radio and Television, 1027 E 162nd St South Holland, occurred Sunday January 8 between 2 and 3 30 am. Entry was gained by smashing the front window with clay. Three portable TV sets and one hi fi were taken and left along Route 6 east side. A passing motorist alerted police who notified South Holland authorities. If the burglars return, they will be disappointed.

Succumbs To Heart Attack In Riverdale Garage
Robert T Summers, 44, collapsed in his Riverdale garage at 14221 Stewart Saturday January 14. Riverdale police and an attending physician pronounced him dead from an apparent heart attack after administering oxygen for about six minutes. Summers was found in the garage where he had been applying a vehicle tag. he was found about an hour later.

South Suburban District Declares Feb 10 Special Holiday
School District 119 designates February 10 as a special holiday for all pupils and assigns teachers and administrators to visit classrooms in other districts across the south suburban area. School resumes Monday February 13.
