Mrs T H Thompson and son Alfred of Detroit MI visit Avierttala Krause and relatives. Thos Faherty 42 a section hand for GC&WI railroad at Yard Center loses a leg, taken to St Bernard's hospital. James and Michael Stapczik travel to Wisconsin to visit their over 80-year-old mother. Miss Lola McPike and Miss Margaret Clare of the Nurses Chicago Training School visit Moomaw on Sunday. Mr and Mrs Carl Meginnis and Leonard McPike visit Mr and Mrs John Gary in Logan Square for New Year. Mr and Mrs Nicholas Lorenzen welcome a boy born December 23.
The Board of Directors of the First National Bank of Dalton declares a four percent dividend and transfers 3000 from Undivided Profits to Surplus, lifting the surplus to 18000. The policy aims to retain earnings to strengthen the bank. The First Trust and Savings Bank of Riverdale ends its first year with Undivided profits over 800 after expenses.

Sets ship to California and New York, with 300000 pounds used in Cook County. Seed costs around 7 shillings per pound, current price 1 to 1 ½ dollars, spring seed retail likely about 6 50 per pound.

A. A. North W. T. Hopkins and E. Thompson led a Rockford trip December 21 for two days distributing 50 sweaters 45 pairs of socks and 400 comfort kits to Ninth Ward soldiers. Kits include gum cigarettes handkerchief trench mirror toothbrush soap comb talcum powder toothpaste and a house wife with sewing supplies. Report unserved soldiers to A. A. The Riverdale Board met December 26 with all members present. Trustees approved sending a special assessment for sidewalk on 136th street. Light and drainage issues discussed with repairs on Wentworth avenue and Indiana avenue sewer. Crossings at Halsted street to be repaired within 15 days. Waterworks work reported and tapping machine repair requested. Health and sewer gas complaints reviewed. Financial bills examined and approved. Communications urged state action for broader city taxing power and annual Firemen’s convention invitation noted. Attorney Flick reports on Nora Baumgartner suit over a ditch injury.
