Acme Steel Co plans a 25 percent stock dividend on February 15 for holders of record February 1, with a Jan 31, 1930 stockholders meeting to authorize increasing authorized capital from 300000 to 500000 shares. Ninth months 1929 earnings totaled 2402408, or 8.75 a share on outstanding stock. 1928 net income was 2183408, or 11.93 a share on 182598 shares, boosted by a 50 percent stock dividend. Negotiations with Youngstown Sheet and Tube for possible consolidation are at a stage of property appraisal. The firm will mark its fiftieth anniversary in 1930, dating to 1880.
