Dolton Village Notice on Vehicle Sticker Price Increase

Dolton village clerk reminds residents that vehicle sticker prices rise by $2 on March 1. Passenger cars now cost $8, trucks priced by state class. After March 1, $2 increases apply to both passenger cars and trucks. Voter registration days listed March 1, 2 and 3 with hours 9 am to 5 pm and 9 am to 8:20 pm on Friday.

Dolton Citizens Party Names Candidates for Village Offices

The Dolton Citizens Party open caucus at Thorn Ridge High School approved a slate for the April election. Frederick L. Kasten was nominated for president of the village board of trustees, with Ralph J. Berg Wesley E. Lane and Justin C. Tanner as trustees, Ito len H. O Connell for village clerk, and Thomas Harper for police magistrate. Lane and Tanner are incumbents, with Lane seeking a first full term and Tanner entering Dolton politics. Willian Staat hailed strong turnout and said the nominees’ experience supports a program of continuing good government.

Hold Heart Fund Drive Sunday

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kast, Community Chairman for the Heart Fund Drive in Dalton, remind residents that Feb. 26 is Heart Sunday when everyone can support the Heart Association. Officials serve without pay and about 60,000 volunteers ring door bells. Eighty percent funds research and community services. twenty percent covers overhead. Last year, 51 research projects in five medical schools and Chicago area hospitals received Heart Association support.

Marjorie Pebworth, elected in April 1958, becomes the first no moan to serve on the School District No. 205 board. She and six colleagues helped plan the Thornridge High School in Dalton as part of board duties, with re election expected in April.

Grammar School Trio Admits Torturing Rare Ducks Geese

Delton police solve brutal destruction of 11 wild mallard ducks and two rare African geese owned by the Piscateers Club on 172 E. 142nd St. in Dalton. Three grammar schoolboys, ages 13 to 15, admitted breaking into an enclosure and then the club building to beat and kill the birds after chasing them on ice. One wing torn from a goose required destruction. Juvenile officers questioned six youths. parents may offer restitution or the boys face Juvenile Court in Chicago.

Pastor Accepts Call To Ivan Reformed Church

The Ivanhoe Reformed Church at 143rd and Wabash will welcome Harold Patz to the pulpit on Tech 26. Patz is a Western Seminary graduate and a theology student at the University of Chicago.
