Water storage bond eyed to cut fire insurance costs
Dalton village endorses a 1 314 000 bond issue for water sewer and street improvements. Volunteers of the fire department voted unanimously to back the plan. If approved March 3 the project aims to raise water storage and upgrade mains to improve insurance ratings from class 6 to class 5, lowering premiums. Village officials and the advisory committee have been briefing residents.

Mission Emphasis Week Planned by Three Churches

Death of Riverdale businessman ruled accidental
A coroner's jury met February 17 at Riverdale Municipal Building to examine the death of Gustav FE Dahl 57 of 730 1 144th Street Riverdale who ran a monument business at that address for 34 years. He was struck by an eastbound Grand Trunk railroad freight train at 142nd Street and Western Avenue in Dixmoor. The inquest returned an accidental death verdict.
