South Holland Considers Water Rate Pass-Through After Chicago Increase
South Holland officials study the Chicago water rate hike of 3712 percent and its effect on village bills. Public Works Supt. Boender says the village pays 16 cents per 1000 gallons and may raise local rates to cover bond costs and system needs. The next board meeting on Feb 13 will decide if consumers share the higher charges.

The vehicle rested on a telephone pole guide wire. she was treated for shock at Ingalls Memorial Hospital Harvey. Her children Victoria seven and Richard nine were uninjured.

Frank Kala age 26 of Dalton was charged with reckless homicide after a car crash on State street near Alice street Burnham killed passenger James Hopkins 60 of Hammond. Kala survived with minor injuries as the vehicle rolled into a ditch. Patrolman Costella found the wreck at 1 40 am noting excessive speed beyond the 45 mph limit.
