Auto Skid Injures Richard Bushking and Mrs Wilkens Near Kankakee
Richard Bushking and Mrs Henry Wilkens were badly hurt when their car skidded on a highway near Kankakee Indiana while en route to attend Henry Wilkens Sr funeral at Buckley. Bushking suffered a fractured skull and head injuries, Mrs Wilkens bruise and knee injuries. Bushking was taken by hospital to Kankakee for treatment.

Local resident Herman Zornow dies at 51 in Chicago Heights
Herman Zornow a long time Glenwood resident died Christmas Day at St James hospital Chicago Heights aged 51 after gall bladder surgery. He worked in Dalton and Riverdale brickyards for years and leaves a widow two step sons four brothers John Frank Henry and Fred and two sisters Emma and Ida. Funeral services were held at Glenwood Union Church with interment at Oaklawn cemetery.

Henry Wilkens Sr died at home near Rollo Missouri on Christmas Eve aged 76. Former Riverdale resident moved to Minnesota then farmed at Rollo. Survived by widow six sons and one daughter Emma Knuth. 14 grandchildren. Funeral held Wednesday at Buckley with interment in family lot cemetery.

Forest Avenue special assessment case revived for Supreme Court

George Vanderveen and wife visited his parents Mr and Mrs Wiebe Vanderveen of Riverdale on Christmas day. Two heavy sedans driven by W S Hutton and Vince Bantowski crashed at 154th Street and Lincoln Avenue late last Wednesday night. no injuries though vehicles were badly damaged. Calumet City's new sewer, five and a half miles long, will be finished and operational within ten days. Peter Lau and John Hausman visited Dick Bushking at St Mary's Hospital in Kankakee where he recovers from an auto accident. Edith Dalton will close The Woodshed from January 1 to March 1. Miss Dalton sold property opposite the village hall to Standard Oil Co. Mrs Alexander Grant operated on for appendicitis at Roseland Community Hospital and is recovering. M Malnix, substitute teacher at Fenger High, has taught in seventeen high schools since 1927. Mrs Louis Casanov of Gladstone store was hospitalized for appendicitis but recovering. Ruth Stutzreim operated on for appendicitis and improving. William West, veteran C E I locomotive engineer, is in St Francis Hospital Blue Island for anemia. Donald Jenness of Detroit visited his mother Mrs Cora Jenness of Dalton on Christmas day with his wife and young son.
