The South Holland village board adopted an ordinance regulating food dispensing vehicles at its August 8 meeting. The Dolton Day Picnic drew a large crowd as the parade opened the day on August 7. Judges including Albert Ohlson and James Cullen gave trophies to color guards, drill teams, baton twirlers, and old- car groups from nearby towns. Laura Farrell won the Diaper Derby in 4 minutes 32 seconds. Special thanks were given to local veterans posts, the fire department, and the Dolton Police for their help.
