Fire Damages Kitchen. Rapid Response Prevents Spread
A kitchen fire at Mrs. Anna Ray’s cottage in Camp Grounds broke out Monday near noon. A bucket brigade and the old Delton fire pump helped confine the blaze to the rear until Dalton and South Holland fire crews arrived and kept it from spreading. The incident highlighted the new fire engine trucks as a security for the neighborhood. Also noted is a successful August 4 Ladies' Aid supper and a short trip by Herman Faden to Spring Lake, Michigan.
