The village offices and various outlets now hold renewal application blanks. Current licenses expire May 1 and must be renewed for a three year period. Qualified drivers receive new permits automatically upon filing with a 50 cent fee. Minor renewals use a blue form signed by a parent or guardian and witnessed by a notary. Active duty Illinois service members keep licenses through the war.
Mohr Brothers Serve Overseas In World War II
Pvt. David Mohr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Godfried Mohr of Riverdale, is believed wounded in New Guinea and en route home. Brother August Mohr has been wounded twice in Holland and Bastogne with paratroopers, and Jacob Mohr serves in the Navy in the Pacific.

Civil Air Patrol aims to recruit 250000 cadets with an Illinois quota of 15000 and designates April as Illinois Civil Air Patrol Recruiting Month. Squadron 613-3 will host two air shows at Prospert Airport Tinley Park on April 15 and Rubinham Airport Harvey on April 29. The Prospert show opens at 2 pm featuring formation flying acrobatics spot landing contests bomb dropping message pickup ground maneuvers and CAP pilot demonstrations. S/Sgt John Shirritt Home on 45 Day Furlough
