Voters largely abstained with light turnout as country towns favored neighbors on the Republican ticket. J. Ham. Lewis won the United States Senate nomination by 154,519 plurality. Robert Sweitzer took county clerk by 141,301. Meyering captured sheriff by 102,649. J. J. O'Rourke showed strength in country areas but lost city ballots.

Dolton Troop 1 Invites Local Groups to Scout Meeting
Dolton Troop 1 extends an invitation to members of the Lincoln Avenue PTA Woman's Relief Corps and Woman's Auxiliary to attend a Monday meeting from 7 to 9 p m. Ed Luken gave an instructional demonstration on artificial respiration and donated a first aid kit for hikes. Ten scouts under Mr Wesse completed outdoor tests at the Outdoor Instruction Period. WRECK OF B. & O. C T WRECK ATTRACTS RIVERDALE CROWD
At ten minutes to twelve last Monday night a heavy B&O freight derailed near 137th Street Riverdale. Engine 4519 plunged, another locomotive left rails but was stopped. Firemen escaped unharmed. engineer crawled free as steam hissed. Crowds watched crews clear wreckage with Illinois Central assistance and a 150 ton wrecker. Confusion in signals blamed for the crash.

Mrs. Fredericka Klein Dies After Long Illness
Mrs. Fredericka Klein died at 5 o clock Monday morning March 31 at her Lincoln avenue home near Propper corner after years of illness followed by apoplexy. She was buried April 2 at Oak Lawn cemetery Thornton. She leaves four children Ralph Minnie Melvin and Eleanor Klein one son in law A Rutz one grandchild three brothers two sisters and other relatives and friends.
