IRS urges extensions to check returns for overlooked benefits

The IRS asks taxpayers with Oct 15 extensions to review returns for credits and deductions such as EITC and Saver's Credit. About 13 million extensions were filed nationwide. New Mexico expects 792,000 e filings and 88,300 extensions. Some filers abroad or in combat zones may have longer deadlines. Use IRS e filing or Free File to file.

County, tribal pact eyed for dispatch services deal

The Sandoval County Commission will vote on a dispatch service agreement with Sandia Pueblo Tribal Police Department. The pueblo would pay the county 159,893.05 by next June to match funds for dispatch services in the area, with repayment in full or quarterly installments. A separate NIMS training request for county staff and three budget adjustments also appear on the consent agenda ahead of a 6 p.m. meeting at 1500 Idalia Road Building D in Bernalillo.

ARPS Pitches $14 Million Bond Sale Following Branding Push

Logo RRPS has pursued branding and social media growth while the board unanimously approved a $14 million general obligation bond sale. Erik Harrigan of RBC Capital Markets said strong tax base could attract buyers. The $14 million will complete the $50 million authorization approved by voters in February 2012.
