Day of the Dead slide show by Catalina Delgado Trunk
Catalina Delgado-Trunk presents a 2 p.m. slide show and talk on Dia de los Muertos plus her original sculptures and artifacts. A late-start artist who began formal study at 49, she has shown in 20 plus exhibitions and curated many ofrenda shows. Her work is in major collections including the Smithsonian. The event at DeLary House in Bernalillo charges $5 general admission. Friends of Coronado admitted free.

Former Rams star Preston Dennard to speak at Rio Rancho library
Former NFL wide receiver Preston Dennard, a UNM Lobo alumnus, will join Gary Herron for a live interview at Esther Bone Memorial Library at 6 30 p m. Friday Tequila Rain, a Los Lunas based band with over ten years of Southwest performing history, plays the Cheetah Lounge at Santa Ana Star Casino from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The group, popular in New Mexico, spans styles from New Mexican tejano and country to Latino classic rock and oldies with no cover charge.

Esther Bone Library Hosts Matchbox Car Exhibit
Esther Bone Memorial Library showcases Jim Gallegos collection in a glassed display featuring about 700000 pieces. The exhibit runs during library hours through September 28 and includes vintage and modern Matchbox cars trucks buildings pamphlets pins blueprints and a resin prototype of a Matchbox vehicle.

The Rio Rancho Art Association hangs Landscapes of the Southwest at Esther Bone Memorial Library through November 6 featuring 12 artists.
