District Enrollment Exceeds Predictions in Rio Rancho
Rio Rancho Public Schools enrolls 5 363 students on the 20th day, more than the 4 994 projected by the State Department of Education. Interim Superintendent Dr. James Miller announced that final budget figures for the transitional year remain pending and that plans to ease Lincoln Middle School overcrowding are under review, potentially shifting students to Mountain View. A Blue Ribbon Committee report is expected in about two weeks, with state funding decisions not anticipated until next year. The district is also exploring building projects and warehouse space, while the Rio Rancho Soccer Club presented a 270 check to ARPS to foster better club-district cooperation for student benefits.
