Sun Tran delays Rio Rancho bus route expansion
Sun Tran officials say four more months may pass before Rio Rancho service can begin due to awaiting a state certificate of necessity and county approval. The process could delay route bids as drivers are allowed to bid on routes every four months, and Rio Rancho remains officially in limbo. Sandoval County officials and Sun Tran executives describe ongoing efforts with the State Corporation Commission to secure the needed permit.
