Recreation pact eyed for Rio Rancho Vista Hills complex
Attorneys for Rio Rancho Sandoval County and Cibola Little League review a joint powers agreement to build a 16 acre athletic complex in Rio Rancho. The first phase covers 8 acres on Sundt Road with lighted fields for football softball soccer volleyball and bocce. County funds and a state grant seed the project with completion aimed for spring. An additional 8 acres owned by the league may be leased in the off season to fund further improvements including parking restrooms and a picnic area. The deal faces anti donation clause review and could set a precedent if approved by the Rio Rancho City Council on Nov 9 and Sandoval County.
